Matthew 10:37“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39″He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.”

Yesterday I talked about how much control we love to hold over every area in our life. Today I woke up thinking about how much God loves us and how we could try everything in our power to return that love and can’t. How could we return a love that we can’t even begin to comprehend? In John 21:15-17 Jesus asks Peter three times if  he loves Him, all three times Peter replies I love you, but each time replying with a love like the love that we know. Not the supernatural agape love that the Father gives us, not the same kind of love that cost Jesus His life on the cross.

There are times when I find myself praying with my family in our home, or worshiping, and the love of God rest on my home so thick that we can’t move and everyone in the house will get quiet. God loves us all the time like this but we don’t tap into it every second of the day. We don’t understand what it means to love the way God loves us. We spend years pursuing Him and trying to find more, but what helps us find more is to first understand more of His love. All things stem out of love; creation, healings, prayer for one another, worship, reading your Bible and praying! So why would we think by not pursuing love we can find more? Knowledge is a powerful tool, but knowledge without love is useless! Solomon asked for wisdom above all things he could of asked for. When you really focus on that you find that He already had wisdom in order to ask for wisdom, and that passionate love and desire for more of God brought that wisdom into his life. You could know everything about the Kingdom of Heaven, read your Bible everyday, and pray, but if there is no love involved in your pursuit, then there is no supernatural power.

John 17:22-26 talks about the Glory and love which God has given us through Jesus! That we would understand His love and because He is glorified that we will be glorified in Him. As the Body of Christ I believe we have not stepped into areas of authority because we have forgotten to find that love and use it as our strength. Everything in God is found in His love for us, but so many times we pursue things trying to advance our own kingdom or even trying to look good to everyone else. I don’t want to sound mean, but who cares what everyone thinks if your pursuing the love of the Father and He sets you in with a supernatural authority! How many people do we see that just come to Church and don’t really want to be apart of more? There must be millions that are just comfortable with where they are.

Jesus didn’t heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leper, and cast out demons because He wanted to look good or be the most popular guy in Church. He didn’t do it because He was commanded to, or because He wanted to prove that God is real. Jesus healed the hurting because He loved them beyond their sickness and mental capacity. It was love that made the blind see, that cast demons out, that raised the dead! If you were to study about the men and women of God moving in power now or any time in the past, you would find that all of them are oozing the love of God out of there lives. This isn’t something that you get by getting more responsibilities, God doesn’t have a rank structure that allows one person to do more than another. God has given the same promises to every man who would pursue after Him with a passionate love. There are no excuses!

Now if we are placed in authority over certain areas of Ministry, we need to understand that love has put us there. You can have a call on your life for that area, but if you don’t seek to understand the true love of the Father, you won’t succeed. When I fell in love with my wife at age 16, we began to learn more about each other and grew in our love for eachother. It caused us to unite, produce, and share that love with our Children. We have been together over 13 years now, have three beautiful children that love God passionately, and it all started out of love. Ministry is no different, if we don’t know or understand how to love then you won’t see growth in your ministry. We have to unite with the Fathers love and as we understand it more we will produce more. Your ministry could be in what ever area comes to your mind, family, youth, a Church, but without uniting with the love of the Father how do you expect to draw hearts and love people to send them back out to share that love.

God has called my family into youth ministry, we have always had a heart for young people. So much that there have been many times where my wife and I have wept over the hearts of our young people. We see things in them that they don’t even see in themselves. We correct things out of love, so that it may cause growth in the ministry and in their hearts. Let love take you beyond your own understanding and just as God has promised, I promise that you will see things in the supernatural opened up to you. That the people around you will begin to notice the love of God consuming you and moving you into the destiny God has planned for your life!
