God works through the Holy Spirit to constantly build on to your faith and walk with Him. The one thing we have to always remember is that God’s plan for us is to constantly move from Glory to Glory. That doesn’t take us out of the place we are to sit back and watch God work through others. He wants to use you! He’s called you to certain areas to occupy your focus and attention on the people who you get to serve. Often we look at Pastors as the head and father over that ministry, it’s completely true, but we forget to see them as the servant. They are the biggest servants in the house.
Think of it this way, as the father of my house I go to work and bring home money for my house. I set the tone for where my family is going as we seek God out. As a Mother, she nurtures and assists in every area that she can, to bring the home into unity. My children do have chores but as babies all they do is eat, cry, and play. As parents we have to devote our time to building them up in the way they should go. Sometimes they make messes and their to little to know how to clean up properly, so we have to show them how to clean. As parents we do a majority of the work in the house by just providing for our house. Well, our Pastors provide for us, which makes them the biggest servants in the house.
Having a servant’s heart will drive you to find dreams and visions that God is placing before you for your next leap into glory. God wants to use people who want to serve, not their needs, but the need for His Church. When we are told to do something, whether by the Holy Spirit or our spiritual leaders, the first thing that we need is a vision for it. There should never be a moment when we are literally not doing nothing and calling it a “Season!” There is always a next level of glory that God is pushing us towards.
Being a servant is always the best way to prepare yourself for the next level. But we also have to constantly seek God with a passion deeper then the last day. That passion will drive you to read your Bible and to pray, and not just pray but talk to God and let Him know whats on your heart. Your passion will always be professed through your mouth. Love will take you beyond your normal way of thinking and move you into a supernatural calling that has been set before you. Lust breaks things down and destroys relationships, so lusting for power or a title will only cause you to be bitter and envious of the people who are truly loving what God is doing.
Glory to glory doesn’t involve only you! Preparation for where ever God is moving you doesn’t only involve you! God moves us from Glory to Glory to use you as a tool to move others to their next level. Our minds should never be focused only on what is next for us. Why would God only want to use you to impact you? God moves on you and through you for others. If I wanted to grow only for myself, how would I express God’s love through my growth. Pastor Mike Bost has said many times that using God for only your needs is like treating Him like a prostitute. That’s exactly what we are doing when our focus is concentrated on only ourselves, for ourselves.
Growth comes after the preparation comes for that growth. You can’t take people out of the stands and put them in a professional football game. Someone would get killed! Those players have to practice and prepare for each and every game. Every game is different and they have to prepare differently as the season goes on. So why would we think that growth in ourselves comes when we force it or do it our way, so we can get our way? We have to prepare ourselves for what is coming. Living in love with a true servants heart is a great start for preparation.
These things are also a key to growth in Ministry. God isn’t going to give you more people to disciple if you can barely handle what you have now. You have to be prepared for growth and also prepare your disciples for the growth that will take place. If the Holy Spirit sees that your ministry is ready for growth doors will open. We have a very prideful way of thinking most of the time, by thinking we have something to do with why growth will happen. The Holy Spirit draws in people, you can talk tell your blue in the face, but until the Holy Spirit prepares a heart to receive, all we can do is be obedient and share God’s love.
Awesome stuff! Really confirmed a lot of things that God has been speaking to my heart! It’s funny, we had this same conversation on Saturday where I told you what God was speaking to me and I hadn’t even read this post yet!
especially the season part – always glory to glory
Thanks I’ve been reading your blogs straight from my phone as soon as you post them. Awesome stuff! This Sunday we started implamenting our songs that our being wrote by our worshippers. Oh my Gosh, I wish you were there to experience what happened this Sunday.
As we went into the first service God did awesome things and it was like we prepared the way for the second service. I was playing the drums for this song but the one that was written had war drums and as I played it I felt the Heavens open up and the Angels begin to sing with us! It got quiet and as we began to sing I could hear the angels singing with us, that war drum started to go off in my head. I started to lightly play the war drums and two of our dancers got up on stage and began to dance as the song launched us into a whole other realm of God’s presence. This was so awesome and real that I was overloaded with God’s presence.
This Sunday I believe we will be doing one of my songs and can’t wait to see what God’s going to do through it. I’m so in love with Him!!!!
oh my gosh….am soo jealous right now man. I wish I was there too. I just love to hear you talk about him. He must be soo pleased with you, if i am pleased and am just a created one like you then the CREATOR Himself must also be pleased. I was really excited when spiritual songs began to flow from me too and it still amazes me when it happens. Trust me, when they are released into the atmosphere it does create havoc. so super
The first time I released one of mine in an anointed service it was just like doors and windows began to open in heaven and (ppl did not know I wrote it) Ppl told me that even the next day at work they found that they just could not stop singing as it was just ringing in their heads u know. God is completely awesome.
